Vessel identity, as the open record actually states it
Governments publish which vessels they have sanctioned or flagged (OFAC, the EU, the UK, and the UN), and the IMO publishes the public standard for the seven-digit ship identification number — including the check-digit rule that says whether an IMO number is internally consistent. These records are open, but they live in separate lists and are hard to cross-check against one another over time. This vertical can join rows on the IMO number when both sources publish it, but it does not claim a complete dated history or arbitrary-date reconstruction.
We report exact facts only— that a vessel appears on a named list, the date it was listed, and whether its IMO number passes the published check-digit rule. We never publish a derived “risk” score or label a vessel, and every record carries a link to confirm current status at the official source.
What this vertical is built on (open data only)
Built strictly from openly redistributable sources. Paywalled or restricted feeds — AIS vessel tracking, and any view-only or licence-restricted registry — are deliberately excluded from the foundation.

The IMO Number Integrity Report
Sanctioned and flagged vessels cross-referenced against IMO-number validity (the published check-digit rule) and cross-list presence — stated strictly as dated facts and reproducible from open data. The data foundation for this report is in place; the report publishes once the open lists are confirmed for republish and ingested.
