Frequently asked questions

How often does Fonteum refresh each source family?
Fonteum publishes a per-source refresh cadence. Each row in the table on this page lists the upstream source's own release frequency and Fonteum's snapshot frequency — most federal source families are quarterly or monthly. The table is the canonical, programmatically-derived list.
Where does the refresh cadence data come from?
The cadence table is auto-derived from the canonical snapshot manifest at /research/data/_manifest.json, compiled at build time from the registered source families. Each row links to the upstream CMS source URL so the cadence is independently checkable.
When was the most recent snapshot taken?
The most-recent snapshot across all sources is shown at the top of this page, and each source family's own last-pull date appears in the 'Last pull' column of the table.

Built on the authoritative federal record

The primary sources, named on every page.

These are the federal agencies whose public datasets Fonteum ingests and attributes — the issuing authorities, not customers or partners. Every figure on the site links back to one of them.

Reproducible by design

Every figure traces to its federal source.

14-tuple provenance

Every rendered fact ties to a source URL, dataset ID, snapshot date, row key, and SHA-256 — the full chain-of-custody record.

Reproducible SQL

Each study ships the exact query behind its figures, run against the cited federal snapshot. Re-run it yourself.

Daily count checks

Published counts are checked against the upstream federal datasets on a daily cadence, with drift logged.
