Fonteum defines a nullable 14-field provenance envelope: source, source URL, dataset ID, snapshot date, methodology version, last-checked date, confidence, data availability, pipeline version, a persistent-identifier slot, license, coverage-period start and end, and an integrity-reference slot. Fields can be absent by source and surface. No provenance fact currently links deterministically to a snapshot signature.
